Manuel Carrillo III refers to himself as the “future number-one automotive journalist in North America”. He’s worked in radio, television, education and even the fashion industry, but writing car reviews is his main aspiration.
Carrillo began his writing career in 2005 at Topless Sports News, a weekly online television-style news show where a stunning topless woman would comment on the week’s biggest sports stories.
Following a stint in Europe in 2006, Carrillo was a high school teacher for one week as he introduced an anger management curriculum for one of his final college projects.
In 2007, he ventured into the radio industry as a promo writer for 97.1 (KLSX-Los Angeles) the FM Talk Station. After KLSX shut its doors in February of 2009, he began working with Ed Hardy clothing as an occasional photographic assistant. He has since joined the ranks of talented writers at TheNeave.com, a youth-oriented online magazine. He is also a tutor for students ages K through 12th grade.
Other than splashing his creativity onto the computer screen, Carrillo enjoys traveling to distant places in his Audi A4, hanging out with friends, and studying the latest happenings in the automotive industry.
Carrillo holds a B.S. degree in communication from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
